Pitiful I'm beingness a HUGE jerk and bringing a five year old mail dorsum from the dead, but there's relevant data to my question here.

I take a 1990 TSI and the elementary cable doesn't work. Should I endeavour making the harder one? And volition it work with my palm airplane pilot?

You tin endeavour the better cable. There is a usb 1 in the works as well here

Don't need USB. This is for a palm, and the standard cheapo three wire doesn't work on my 90 (of course).

Hak, I've nevertheless to effigy out how a USB cablevision would even attach to a Palm Device.

Not all Palm devices work every bit 1G dataloggers, what practise you accept. Y'all could have a bad logger cable, or issues with the hotsync cablevision, or a problem with the device/software. Building an agile cablevision isn't going to fix either of the final two.

I made the cablevision myself, information technology's perfect, quadruple checked. The hotsync cable is new too, and worked fine with my computer. And I have ane of the recommended palms, tin't call back the name off the summit of my caput.

And I don't mind building a cable then long every bit it WORKS.

I don't mind taking a moving-picture show, but my brother'south ii years into electric applied science so if he wired a diode backwards he will never live information technology down.

While I dig up my camera and the similar, is it mutual for 1990s to not have these kinds of cables?

EDIT: I JUST took it autonomously to find a cleaved wire. Stupid pilus size wires breaking. I'm going to remake it really quick and try again, simply I'm pretty sure it broke when I was taking it out of my nuance (I had it all routed).

No, xc'southward have some issues with the motorcar-on versions of the passive cables just not the simple ones shown on the site.

I'll make one if you really think it'll aid.

I appreciate the offer - I actually want to build it myself though. As soon as your USB cable is washed with testing, I'll be all over that though!

1stGenTSi - That's exactly what I'm looking for - thanks! I just needed the shapes translated into parts that I need to buy. I'm an absolute idiot when it comes to electrical diagrams like that.

I'm bold this cable will work on a laptop?

Is there a really dumbed down version of this floating out there that explains what the pyramid and the attachment hateful on that cartoon?

The pyramid is a diode.
The zipper is a resistor.

Both are members of the family of passive electronics, the other two major ones existence the capacitor and the inductor.

No trouble, but that ebay $8 cable merely has 1 connection y'all need. your going to demand a few adapters to make that work with your pc. Last i checked the adapters were close to xxx a pc. The only other cable like that ane i know of was $75 last fourth dimension i looked, its been a while though. Odb1 to usb is then nice. If y'all read the thread about the cablevision at that place is $23 in parts alone and that's a majority price. The cable fifty-fifty has a an action light so to prove its connected. I hateful whats $30, better that then the hassle involved, atleast to me haha. Either fashion gl
